1.Limestone fades to glass and steel. A long, elevated walkway connects the old bones of Abbott College to new walls, translucent and glistening like electricity;

2.A row of glass offices, shops and diners; a lip of dorms that hangs over shimmering blue water; little stick bodies in fluorescent colours going in and out and sitting on benches, reading and shopping and living;

3.A rectangular prism clouded over with brown water like a fishtank shaken, the spring river rising; fluorescent little stick bodies caged in, drowning;

4.A rectangular prism cracked right down the centre; the winter gumbo shifted, a splintering foundation; fluorescent stick bodies staked on steel beams and shredded to confetti by shards of falling glass;

5.Dust of glass, just fragments remaining, the river’s reclaimed it all—the bank and the campus too. There are no bodies just dust and rusted beams sketched on wet parchment paper dissolving in my restless hands.
